The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.banderaazul.org\/\">blue flags<\/a>created by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fee.global\/\">Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE)<\/a> and managed in Spain by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adeac.es\/\">Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC)<\/a> have once again distinguished Galicia, placing it, along with Valencia and Andalusia, on the podium of the autonomous communities with the most flags awarded in 2022. This recognises not only the quality of its waters, but also the effort made to provide them with services in accordance with criteria such as accessibility and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Galicia has a total of 112 blue flags on its beaches, one more than in 2021, and holds one out of every six flags on the Spanish coastline, which demonstrates the effort made to enhance the value of these outstanding areas of our coasts. Furthermore, it can also boast of having the municipality with the most flags in the whole country: Sanxenxo, which has a total of 17.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blue Flag beaches<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As Lapas, Orz\u00e1n-Matadero, Oza, Riazor and San Amaro (<strong>A Coru\u00f1a<\/strong>), Cai\u00f3n (<strong>A Laracha<\/strong>), A Hucha, A Salsa, Barra\u00f1\u00e1n, Combouzas, O Reiro, Porto de Suevos, Sab\u00f3n and Valcobo (<strong>Arteixo<\/strong>), As Pontes Lake (<strong>As Pontes de Garc\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>), Gandar\u00edo (<strong>Bergondo<\/strong>), Arou (<strong>Camari\u00f1as<\/strong>), Pedra do Sal, Razo and As Sa\u00ed\u00f1as (<strong>Carballo<\/strong>), O \u00c9zaro (<strong>Dumbr\u00eda<\/strong>), A Fragata-O Pereixal, Doni\u00f1os, Esmelle and San Xurxo (<strong>Ferrol<\/strong>), Laxe (<strong>Laxe),<\/strong> Perbes-Andah\u00edo (<strong>Mi\u00f1o<\/strong>), Bastiagueiro, Espi\u00f1eiro, Mera, Naval and Santa Cristina (<strong>Oleiros<\/strong>), A Ermida, Balar\u00e9s and O Osmo (<strong>Ponteceso<\/strong>), Coroso (<strong>Ribeira<\/strong>), A Pasada, Coto and Fontela Valea (<strong>Barreiros<\/strong>), A Marosa, O Portelo and Ril (<strong>Burela<\/strong>), O Torno (<strong>Cervo<\/strong>), A Rapadoira, Areousa, As Polas, Llas and Peiz\u00e1s (<strong>Foz<\/strong>), Abrela and Xilloi (<strong>O Vicedo<\/strong>), As Catedrais and Os Castros-Illas (<strong>Ribadeo<\/strong>), Area (<strong>Viveiro<\/strong>), Esteiro (<strong>Xove<\/strong>), Area Grande and O Mu\u00ed\u00f1o (<strong>A Guarda<\/strong>), Area da Secada and Bao (<strong>A Illa de Arousa<\/strong>), Barbeira, Concheira, Frades, Ladeira, Ribeira and Santa Marta (<strong>Baiona<\/strong>), Area de Bon, Banda do R\u00edo, Lagos, Lapam\u00e1n and Portomaior (<strong>Bueu<\/strong>), Areabrava, Areamilla, Lim\u00e9ns, Mendu\u00ed\u00f1a and Nerga (<strong>Cangas<\/strong>), Aguete, Loira, Mogor, Portocelo and Santa de Mar-A Covi\u00f1a (<strong>Mar\u00edn<\/strong>), O Con (<strong>Moa\u00f1a<\/strong>), Cabeceira (<strong>Poio<\/strong>), A Calzada (<strong>Ponte Caldelas<\/strong>), A Lapa, Agra, Areas, Areas Gordas, Baltar, Bascuas, Canelas, Caneli\u00f1as, Foxos, Major, Montalvo, Nosa Se\u00f1ora da Lanzada, O Espi\u00f1eiro-A Lanzada, Panadeira, Paxari\u00f1as, Pragueira and Silgar (<strong>Sanxenxo<\/strong>), A Punta, Argazada, Canido, Carril, Fontai\u00f1a, Forti\u00f1\u00f3n, O Vao, Rodas, Samil, Santa Baia and Tombo do Gato (<strong>Vigo<\/strong>), and Campanario and Compostela (<strong>Vilagarc\u00eda de Arousa<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blue Flag Ports<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But blue flags do not only fly on all these beaches, but can also be seen in other coastal areas that also meet the same criteria of excellence of its waters, accessibility, services and sustainability, as is the case of marinas and yacht clubs. A total of 11 of these facilities in our community have also been distinguished as Blue Ports: Boiro Yacht Club-Marina Cabo de Cruz (<strong>Boiro<\/strong>), Sada Yacht Club and Sadamar Marina (<strong>Sada<\/strong>), A Coru\u00f1a Royal Yacht Club-Royal Marina (<strong>A Coru\u00f1a<\/strong>), Portos\u00edn Royal Yacht Club (<strong>Porto do Son<\/strong>), Ribadeo Marina (<strong>Ribadeo<\/strong>), Monte Real Yacht Club (<strong>Baiona<\/strong>), Cangas Marina-Rodeira Royal Yacht Club (<strong>Cangas<\/strong>) and Juan Carlos I Marina, Sanxenxo Royal Yacht Club and Portonovo Yacht Club (<strong>Sanxenxo<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blue centres<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Likewise, 14 visitor centres and nature classrooms located in a dozen Galician municipalities have been distinguished as Blue Centres for pursuing objectives that coincide with the Blue Flag Programme and because they contribute to raising public awareness of the environment and sustainability: Costa de Dexo-Serantes Natural Monument Visitor Centre and CEIDA-Galicia University Extension and Environmental Dissemination Centre (<strong>Oleiros<\/strong>), Costa da Morte Water Mills Interpretation <strong>Centre<\/strong> (<strong>A Laracha<\/strong>), Cabo Vil\u00e1n Lighthouse Visitor Centre, Man de Camelle Museum (<strong>Camari\u00f1as<\/strong>), Gaia Environmental Education Centre and Reina del Carmen Museum Boat (<strong>Burela<\/strong>), Francisco Fra Riverside Carpentry (<strong>Cervo<\/strong>), As Telleiras Interpretation Centre (<strong>Sanxenxo<\/strong>), Canning Interpretation Centre (<strong>A Illa de Arousa<\/strong>), and the Mogor Petroglyphs Interpretation Centre and Ateneo Santa Cecilia (<strong>Mar\u00edn<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blue trails<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Galicia also has other areas certified by Adeac.
