Sanxenxo Town Council received one of the Q for Tourism Quality 2023 awards during the gala presided over by the Minister of Tourism.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three initiatives from Santiago de Compostela were recognised with SICTED awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Pontevedra Museum collected its Q for Quality and S for Sustainability certifications.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The last edition of FITUR<\/a> not only served as a great showcase for the Galician tourism sector, but also became a space of recognition for many of the initiatives promoted from this land. This was made clear at the various award ceremonies, acknowledgements and distinctions held at the international tourism fair in Madrid in mid-January,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Pontevedra municipality of Sanxenxo<\/strong><\/a> was one of the main protagonists of the Q Night, the evening organised by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality<\/a> to present its awards. Sanxenxo received, along with the Generalitat Valenciana; the Cueva de Nerja, in Malaga; and the Restaurante Tim\u00f3n de Roche, in the province of Cadiz, one of the Q for Tourism Quality 2023 awards<\/strong> for the effort made to commit to certified quality, safety and sustainability.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The town’s mayor, Telmo Mart\u00edn, received the award from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, during a gala event at which he was accompanied by the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Ces\u00e1reo Pardal; his predecessor in the post, Francisco Gonz\u00e1lez, and the treasurer of the entity and president of the Consortium of Tourism Entrepreneurs of Sanxenxo<\/a>, Alfonso Mart\u00ednez, among other representatives of the sector.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition, the same gala was the occasion for the Pontevedra Museum<\/strong><\/a> to receive its Q for Quality and S for Sustainability certifications<\/strong>, making it the only entity of its kind in Spain to boast both distinctions.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Coinciding with FITUR, the SICTED awards for Tourism Quality in Destinations were also presented, which recognise “the work and efforts made by professionals, institutions, companies and destinations that participate in the project in favour of continuous improvement and that have continued their commitment to tourism quality and continuous improvement throughout the year 2022”. In this case, Santiago de Compostela<\/strong><\/a> won first prize in the Best SICTED destination category<\/strong> and second prize in the category Most outstanding SICTED destination improvement project<\/strong>. In addition, the integrated project of the Compostela establishments Casa de Afora and Casa do Cebro<\/strong><\/a> received third prize in the special category Best Sustainability Action in SICTED<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Likewise, a river ecotourism project along the waters of the Sil and Mi\u00f1o rivers<\/strong><\/a> was awarded in the national category in the 28th Active Tourism Competition<\/strong> organised by FITUR and AireLibre magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During the celebration of the Madrid fair, the Costa da Morte Tourism Association CMAT<\/strong><\/a> was also awarded the seal by the Starlight Foundation<\/a>, which certifies this territory made up of almost twenty municipalities as a starlight tourism destination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition, BOLDest<\/a><\/strong>, the most outstanding startup in the second edition of Turislab<\/a>, the Xunta de Galicia’s Tourism Project Accelerator, was one of the finalists in the AMT Smart Destinations Awards<\/strong> held during the #techYdestino forum at FITURTECHY.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
