The president of the Cluster, Ces\u00e1reo Pardal, headed the representation of the sector in the presentation made by the Regional Minister of Culture, Rom\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Representatives of the tourism and audiovisual sectors met last Monday, the 21st, at the Cidade da Cultura de Galicia to attend the presentation of a new initiative that aims to promote this community as a filming location for movies and series, thus having a positive and direct impact on both sectors. This was highlighted by the Regional Minister of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities, Rom\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez<\/a>, at the launch of the Galicia Film Commission, a new virtual platform for the international promotion of our community as a set under the slogan “Shooting at The End of The World” and which was supported by the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Ces\u00e1reo Pardal, as well as representatives of the Galician Audiovisual Academy<\/a>, the Galician Audiovisual Cluster<\/a>, the Galician Association of Independent Producers<\/a>, the Galician Association of Actors and Actresses<\/a>, the Galician Association of Screenwriters<\/a> or the Film Commission of Santiago<\/a> and Ourense<\/a>, as well as the director of the Galician Agency of Cultural Industries<\/a>, Jacobo Sutil, and the director of Galicia Tourism<\/a>, Nava Castro.<\/p>\n

The Regional Minister pointed out that the Galicia Film Commission is one of the initiatives included in the Galician Government’s Culture Generation Plan, with an investment of 34 million euros to carry out a battery of 57 actions. In the case of this new organization, it will have specific staff to meet the needs of audiovisual companies in terms of locating locations for their filming, collaboration with other professionals and companies registered in the database, processing permits and providing resources. In addition, he specified that its implementation will be associated with the creation, next year, of a new fund to attract filming through direct incentives to companies, with the expectation that its economic return in Galicia will multiply by 10 times the public investment.<\/p>\n

“Consolidating Galicia as a film set is an opportunity for our economy, for the audiovisual sector and for the promotion of our territory, our heritage and our culture,” explained Ces\u00e1reo Pardal in his speech. In addition, the president of the Cluster pointed out that “the creation of the Galicia Film Commission platform is very good news for both the tourism and audiovisual sectors. What better internationalization campaign than any film, series or audiovisual production with thousands of followers from any country in the world, who become potential visitors from their homes or from the seat of a cinema”.<\/p>\n

Along with Ces\u00e1reo Pardal, the presentation ceremony of the Galicia Film Commission was attended by other members of the entity, as well as representatives of other entities, such as Bel\u00e9n Montero L\u00f3pez (Galician Association of Conference Centers), Juan Antonio Rivadulla Fern\u00e1ndez (Galician Association of Travel Agencies<\/a>), Mar Rodr\u00edguez Meseguer (Provincial Association of Travel Agencies of Pontevedra), Mar\u00eda Luisa Lorenzo Garc\u00eda (Provincial Association of Restaurant and Hotel Businessmen of Santiago de Compostela<\/a>) and Sara Santos Ferreira (Association of Hotel Businessmen of Santiago de Compostela).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
