More than half of Spaniards plan their vacations at the last moment, according to Royal Caribbean

The Royal Caribbean shipping company has published a study on the behavior of Spanish tourists when planning their vacations. According to this, 53% of Spaniards barely need between one or two weeks to plan their trip. In addition, 38% acknowledge that they are improvising more and more when traveling, only surpassed by Irish travelers (43%).

 

The study, in which 14,000 people from Spain, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Norway, the United Kingdom and Sweden participated, also shows that 65% of Spaniards consider cruises a good last-minute vacation option.

 

Destinations

 

The report indicates that 32% of Spaniards prefer to visit different destinations on their vacations, with youth being the most willing to make the most of their trips. 40% of those under the age of 34 say they want to enjoy various destinations during their vacations; a trend that decreases with age, with only 18% of those over 65 interested in visiting several locations.

 

82% of travelers consider that vacations are the best time to try new experiences and get out of the comfort zone.

 

Accompaniment

 

Regarding companions, 46% of people prefer to travel as a couple, followed by the option of doing it with children (27%), or with friends (26%). On the other hand, 20% of those surveyed state that they are considering a solo trip in the next few years.

 

30% of women prefer to go with friends, while 25% prefer with children. In the case of men, the percentage stands at 29% and 21% respectively.
